About the GT-104

The GT-104 is a discrete version of the Z4 version of the GT-102. It is well suited to driving 4 Ohm speakers, producing 60 Watts per channel of great sound. The GT-104 came about because Texas Instruments (TI), the sole source of the power amplifier IC used in the GT-102 and the Z4, won't deliver the needed IC for at least a year. It's yet another casualty of the Covid calamity.

A discrete version of the amplifier does have some advantages. The design has been customized to have better bandwidth and lower distortion than the original Z4. Whether this improvement is audible is up for debate, as both amps are really good. It does make the build process longer, so if you plan to build the kit, plan on it taking a few hours more than the GT-102 or Z4.

Here's the Manual

This is the manual for kits shipped before June of 2023. You can download the manual. Read it over, check out the schematics and the build process.

This is the manual for kits shipped IN or AFTER June of 2023. You can download the manual. We've tweaked the PCB's to accomodate some parts with a different footprint, but otherwise, it's still the same great amplifier.

Your kit (either version) might have been supplied with an Antek transformer. When you reach the section on installing the transformer, please refer to the Antek Transformer Installation Directions
